Thank you Marvin! Astrophotography can be very time consuming and with different processes than other types of photography. My intention is to keep going. But, this time of year, Tucson, AZ gets quite a lot of rain and clouds.

Artist's Description

M16 is an emission nebula located in the constellation Serpens. This nebula is about 7,000 light years away and contains an open cluster of young stars. Overall, this nebula also contains the smaller Eagle Nebula and the area known as the Pillars of Creation. Photographed earlier in June of 2014. Celestron C-11 with a Starizona Hyperstar (effective focal length of about 560mm @ f/2.0) and Atik 490EX color camera. This image is the result of a stack of images that, in total, was about a 40 minute exposure. Have to admit, I had some help from Maxim DL and Photoshop CS5.
Featured in the "Photographic Arts" fine arts group site. (Thank you editor!)

About Chuck Caramella

Chuck Caramella

HI! And, THANK YOU for visiting my page. Chuck Caramella is an American fine art photographer based in the Southwest desert area of Arizona. His photographic expression was greatly influenced by growing up in this vast and quiet expansive desert. This quietness is reflected in much of his photographic imagery. He has both a Fine Art’s degree and a degree in engineering. Chuck studied photography under the tutelage of Louie Bernal who was an accomplished fine arts photographer in his own right. Chuck strives to share his concept of the creative process, by presenting his vision, through photographic images. He seeks to unite the visual process and the emotional elements we call feelings. Chuck is decisively quiet yet open to learning...
